We stayed at Chambers, a lovely boutique hotel, located Upper West side, on 56th street, at walking distance from busy 5th Avenue, MOMA and Central Park. Perfect for teenagers…2 minutes from all shops.
We stayed 3 days in Manhattan, but one more week would have been perfect!. We went shopping with our mums, without the boys. We started on 5th Avenue, walked down to Union Square and took the underground to SOHO. We had lunch at Eataly, a very trendy italian concept store. Next day, we took the boat to Staten Island (it’s free) with a lovely view of the Statue of Liberty. We visited the One World Observatory. Impressive view and lift. We really really recommend to take the trip up in one of the highest NYC tower. We ate delicious organic burger at Shake Shack . We visited a great food concept store nearby called le District. We followed the advices of Experience-NY and tried experience, 9, 12 and 16!! Check them out on their website!!
We stayed at Montauk Manor. Each family had a huge suite with a small kitchen. They have 4 tennis courts and a nice swimming pool. If we come back one day, we would love to try The Gurney’s that is right at the beach.
We went bicycling to the lighthouse and along the sand paths near the beach. We went swimming in the big waves, rented a surfboard and had fun in the waves. One evening, we organized a huge picnic on the beach. Very fun! We had dinner at 668 Gigshack, a typical surfer restaurant. we loved the food and the ambience.
We stayed in Williamsburg for one day, looking for graffiti’s and taking pictures. We visited some amazing designer shops and a chocolate factory called MAST. We had lunch in one of the many restaurants of Williamsburg. Just stop in one. They are all good. Next day, we took the East River ferry boat to DUMBO. We walked in the area and tested several places recommended by experience NY.
– The underground is the best way to circulate in Manhattan. TheCITI Bikeis a fun and affordable way to discover the city. Just jump on and off your bike whenever you want to explore a shop, a restaurant, a museum or a rooftop.
– We highly recommend to make your restaurant reservation as early as possible to get space in your preferred restaurant.
– Summer time is great in NYC and Long island. The weather is sunny and warm. You will enjoy Long Island beach life. Plenty of small restaurants at the seaside, surf, paddle, wakeboard. At a doorstep from busy Manhattan.
